Shelby County’s educators are delivering the skills your company needs

Shelby County, Indiana is home to a large workforce of highly skilled individuals who have grown up in a culture that prizes hard work and quality workmanship.  To sustain that attitude and meet the skills needed by today’s companies, our local school systems and higher education providers work closely with the business community.

Nine of Shelby County’s K-12 schools received an A rating — the highest possible — from the Indiana Department of Education in 2013, reflecting their ability to prepare students for the state’s needs. You’ll also see that performance reflected in test scores and impressive graduation rates.

Students and current workers have opportunities to develop and strengthen the skills employers need through higher education institutions. From career-focused vocational education to postgraduate training in business and professions, Shelby County and the surrounding area give employees access to the knowledge and skills they need to help their employers succeed.
